A Children’s Television Initiative

Alphabet Adventure is a series of 26 x 10 minute shows designed to help preschool children quickly develop reading, comprehension and numeracy skills.

Each episode focusses on one letter of the alphabet and uses sight word recognition, pronunciation, symbol and contextual imagery, oral vocabulary and comprehension to aid understanding.

Numeracy is addressed using simple number concepts, patterns, measurement and shape.

Each episode is an exploration of concepts within a framework that incorporates story telling, puppetry, song and dance, craft and appreciation of the natural environment.

The Idea

Within the framework of the 26 letters of the Alphabet our educational modules embrace age appropriate, gentle introduction of educational objectives with literacy, numeracy, science, drama, movement and creative arts and craft.

Our targeted pre-schooler course is designed to introduce Fun as the centre of learning. Our program encourages the family and preschool community to engage and share the fun of learning.

Each episode is a dynamic exploration that starts with a specific letter of the alphabet and develops to incorporate ideas about word usage, song and dance, introducing literacy numeracy, appreciation of the natural world and the living things that inhabit it.

The modules strongly reinforce the sense of warmth and community essential to preschool.

The Content

Concepts relating to friendship, kindness, forgiveness and understanding are explored within the framework of onscreen character interactions and higher-level concepts such as respect, motivation, self-esteem and reward are also explained and reinforced via story tasks and character development.

This development, whereby a particular character shows growth in response to kindness and mentoring, is a constant evolving narrative through the series.
